Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special Trailer, Release Date

Christmas and Kevin Bacon are coming to Marvel fans.

Star-Lord, Groot, Rocket Raccoon, Drax, Mantis and Nebula bring the holiday cheer. Disney+ when Marvel Studios revealed the first look at “The! Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special” which will be released on November 25.

In the trailer, Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord isn’t feeling the Christmas spirit after losing his love Gamora (Zoe Saldana) in Avengers: Endgame. in the events of the movie Endgame. To cheer her up, the Guardians travel to Earth to find the perfect Christmas present for her: Hollywood star Kevin Bacon. Drax (Dave Bautista) and Mantis (Pom Klementieff) go to her Hollywood home, which is decorated with Christmas decorations and a smart home security system. They break into Bacon’s house, and the actor, who is no stranger to superhero movies, X-Men. After appearing in the movie First Class, he leaves.

Watchmen helmer and three-time series director James Gunn is also at the helm of this Holiday Special. He also previously worked with Bacon on his 2010 superhero comedy Super. The bar has been set considerably high for this latest Guardians project, considering Gunn previously described the special as the “biggest thing” he’s ever created.

Marvel is no stranger to holiday specials. There have been plenty of yuletide comics, including the Giant Superhero Holiday Bag and a 1993 Marvel Holiday Special with a set of shorts featuring Ghost Rider (because nothing says Christmas like a flaming skull on a motorcycle). One with Santa that electrocutes the bad guys and another with the Hulk that helps with seasonal depression. There was also an animated mutant holiday special featuring Wolverine (who just hates Christmas) and Gambit, who gets into a kitchen ego battle with Jean Grey.. Needless to say, the Guardians of the Galaxy special has a high level of goofiness to match.

The holiday special marks another development in Marvel’s explosion in television presence. Last year, “WandaVision,” “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” “Loki,” “What, if…” and “Hawkeye” kicked things off, “Moon Knight,” “Ms. Marvel” and “She-Hulk. Law Law” that follow so far this year. The horror-themed Werewolf was released this month as Marvel Studios’ first special.

As is traditional with most holiday specials, “The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special“It will be available to watch in living rooms, not in theaters, exclusively on Disney+. On the movie side, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3″ will be released on May 5, 2023.
