How to be smart
Have you ever been to a party and noticed that there is always one person who is quick to get back to all the jokes made? People really enjoy this person because they bring a lot of fun to any situation. Smart thinking is good when meeting new people, but it’s also a good way to deal with awkward situations. One cannot become smart overnight, it is something that requires some time and talent to develop. While there are some who are naturally smart, most of us are not.
The first step to becoming smart is to relax and be yourself. Try to be comfortable with yourself. The next step is to watch some of your smart friends in action. Listen to what they say and when they say it. Also watch people you think are smart on TV. Stand-up comedians are a great source of smart people. Listen to people like George Carlin, Carlos Mencia and Ron White. These are all very smart people who have mastered this skill.
This last step is perhaps the most important. Get out there and practice. Talk to everyone you meet and master the art of making conversation with people. As you get comfortable with the conversation piece and be yourself, you’ll notice smart things come to mind. Don’t be afraid to throw it out there. Just let it flow and in no time you’ll be naturally intelligent and the center of attention at the party.
