The lucky winners of the DV raffle 2013 – Country Wise
Winners of the 2013 Green Card Lottery are registered by the Kentucky Consular Center in Williamsburg. The DV Lottery Program, conducted annually under the terms of the Immigration and Nationality Act, provides 50,000 diversity visas to people from countries eligible for the DV Lottery. About 105,628 candidates for DV-2013 have been registered by KCC. All those selected can apply for immigrant visas.
Immigrant visas to eligible winners will likely be issued before September 30, 2013, and diversity visas will be distributed among 6 geographic locations. Winners applying for visas must provide proof of their education or work experience during their interviews to determine their eligibility. Although all winners may not receive immigrant visas, all winners may apply for immigrant visas.
At times, all winners may not have the required educational qualifications or work experience, and only half of the eligible winners may be granted a visa to immigrate to the United States. However, 50,000 diverse immigrant visas will be issued to eligible winners.
According to the results of DV-2013, the most winners are from Ukraine (6424). Also, there are 6218 winners from Nigeria, 6029 from Iran, 5105 from Ghana, 5101 from Uzbekistan, 5015 from Egypt, 4910 from Ethiopia, 4410 from Kenya and 4370 from Nepal. These are the places with a higher number of winners.
These countries are followed by ten other countries with more winners, (3924) Democratic Republic of Congo, (3858) Cameroon, (2846) Russia, (2516) Sierra Leone, (2161) Algeria, (2068) Morocco, ( 2038) Poland, ( 1916) Liberia, (1807) Turkey and (1520) Albania.
A greater number of diversity visas granted through this program are allocated to countries from which a much smaller number of people immigrated to America. The US Congress enacted this process to diversify the country’s entire population. In addition, the number of diversity visas granted to all different eligible countries is not the same and depends on the immigration levels in the countries. Similarly, the number of people who enter the program from different eligible countries is also not the same and so an applicant’s chances of winning the lottery are based on the number of applicants from the country of which he is a citizen.
Applicants from countries with fewer applicants are most likely to win the lottery. Your country of birth plays an important role because if you are a citizen of an eligible country that has the highest chances of winning the DV lottery and with a much smaller number of applicants, your chances of winning the lottery may increase . Checking the participant’s status is the only way the winners can find out about their interviews. Interviews will determine the winner’s eligibility, and if the interview is successful, the winner will be granted an immigrant visa and may immigrate to the United States and apply for a green card.
