Tony Robbins – Personal Power II – Day 23 – How to Increase Energy

Day 23

So much material has been written about how to increase one’s energy. The need is so great. One of the things I’ve learned is that if you don’t have your health and that translates into energy, it’s very difficult to reach your full potential. Energy is the currency of life. If you don’t have it, think about what you’re missing!

The first key to being healthier and more energetic is to understand and practice powerful breathing. Oxygen is key to impacting quality of life through full system penetration. Your whole body; every cell of every system is energized by being bathed in oxygen.

Here is an exercise that will help you feel more energetic right now. This is so amazing. It’s free and works well. Breathing: 4-16-8 The numbers above are just a ratio, and when you’re just starting out, breathing in for 4 counts, holding for 4 or 8, and breathing out for 8 counts is a great place to start. Exhaling for double the count of inhaling helps you increase lymph circulation. Your lymphatic system doesn’t have a pump, but its volume is much larger than your blood. Exercise and breathing help it circulate and remove toxins from your system. If you can do the following, do it:

1). Inhale deeply to the count of 4.

2). Hold your breath for a count of 16.

3). Exhale to a count of 8.

Repeat this breathing pattern 10 times, 2 or 3 times a day. The idea is to ventilate, not hyperventilate, so if you feel numbness in your arms and legs, lightheadedness, lightheadedness, breathe more normally until the numbness subsides. As you improve, you can increase the count to 6 inhaling, holding for 24 counts, then exhaling for 12, and so on.

Make sure you drink enough water – and no, beer doesn’t count, nor does coffee, tea or juices. Good quality water is best. Even though we’ve been taught that bottled water is best, it is least regulated source from water. If your tap water has fluoride or a lot of chlorine, avoid that too. The dangers of fluoride and chlorine will have to be in another post.

Reverse osmosis or distilled is pure water. It may lack the minerals you’d be looking for, but it would be a safer drink than bottled water in plastic or tap water. There are some urban areas where clean water is a priority and where tap water is great. If you are lucky enough to live in such a place, enjoy!

Next, let’s talk about the food. Sure, your parents and doctors tell you to eat more fruits and vegetables. But here’s a new way to look at food. What you’re really looking for are foods with a high water content. These are fruits and vegetables, but filtering them differently removes any resistance you might have to eating them consistently. What have you eaten in the last 24 hours?

  • Write down everything you eat.
  • Now cut out all foods with a high water content.
  • What would be the percentage? 10%, 40%, 60%, more?

Most people don’t eat enough fresh food. Also, most people don’t drink enough water. A great target amount of fresh foods is at least 70% plus freshly squeezed juices if you have access.

How much water you drink should be determined by how thirsty you are. However, when you are under a lot of stress, drink a lot of wonderful water. Hydration regulates your body’s biochemical functioning and has a huge effect on your emotional state. Try reaching for a glass of water before you reach for food.

Did you know that without enough water from water-rich foods, you can actually poison yourself with your toxins? Not good.

Addressing your health and self-care will pay huge dividends in your ability to make the changes needed to support you.

How cool is that? If you’ve been too tired to function, improving your eating and health habits may do the trick.

Forward!
